Young people and education: using coaching to work with young people to help them address the climate challenge

Join us on our journey as we share the learning that is emerging as we create a free guide for those wanting to use a coaching approach with young people towards a sustainable future.

During this session, we will explore sections of the guide including the rationale behind climate coaching with young people and current research, building relationships through nature connection and empathetic communication, frameworks for practice including ‘active hope’ and ‘eco-gestures’, and listening and questioning techniques including youth panels and tree planting initiatives.

We will also hear from young people about their views on climate at this time of transition.

The session will include contributions about practical tools for working with young people, giving time to explore how to build confidence and capability in using coaching in different education settings and discussion, and reflections on current practices and ideas for future inclusion in the guide.
