We know from large surveys that “even in” the privileged Global North, “even in the US”, 80% of people agree that Climate Change is clearly happening. Of these, 70% are concerned, and a similar 70% feel they have very few people in their circles who appear equally concerned. Interesting.

My invitation to you is to help some of the truly difficult conversations to happen, with support that comes from doing it together – i.e. in community, with others, together.

And so, you are warmly invited to join me to watch screenings of three related films about the Climate Crisis. They have been created by Frédéric Laloux (of “Reinventing Organisations) and Hélène Gérin, his wife. The series is called “The Week”, and the idea is that the three films are watched within the space of a few days, at most a week, to keep momentum high.

I have selected Tuesday 9th, Wednesday 10th, and Thursday 11th July 2024 to host these screenings for anyone interested and available (early evening Europe – 18h30-20h15 CEST, 17h30-19h15 BST). If you would like to find out more, or would like to join the sessions, please sign up, or contact me for more information.

NOTE – since I didn’t set this up on the CCA site at first, I have another Zoom link planned –
If you are interested, please complete this short Google Form and I will send you my zoom link.

Presenter(s) Bio

My name is Emma Pearson - a Brit who's been living in France for the past 26 years.

My work is coalescing around the importance of making space in our lives - both at home and at work - for endings, loss and grief... and that when we do this intentionally, and preferably in community, in time, new energy can emerge. No - this is not just pushing the "happy ever after" narrative on you, but instead inviting us all to turn more to what is hard, what is devastating, what is no longer, whether in our lives, in our world, and be with the pain of that. Sit in it for a while. It is so counter-cultural to do this - to turn towards, rather than to turn away, deny, distract, ignore, or numb - or whatever our game may be.

My genuine sense is that when we don't stay with what hurts, when we insist on "turning away and moving on", we fail to take in learnings and lessons. We forget what it is what we long for and what binds us, and we miss opportunities for the necessary transformation that these times require of us. As such we miss out the very real inner work that will support the outer, technical solutions that are popping up everywhere.
