The roots of better work: why my supervisor is a forest

That’s not strictly true, I think human supervisors are important in organisational work, whether it’s coaching or OD. That said, some of the most significant guidance for my work comes from the more than human world.
I’ve spent over twenty-five years bringing the more than human into organisational life, alongside weaving artful ways of being into my work. The influence of permaculture design, as well as deep ecology, micro-forestry, and miniature wilderness work have been part of my way of “turning up”.
In this session I will say something about what these approaches are and how I use them in my work. I hope to cover:
• Permaculture and permaculture design
• Agroforestry and its lessons for organisational work
• I’ll say something about how these link to organisational theory and practice, and to some of my core organisational perspectives including complexity, action inquiry and collaborative process work.
I’m looking forward to the conversation and to learning from your sharing.
