CCA Southern UK Community
Explore and Discuss
Hosts: Lorenza Clifford and Carol Foussat
Drawing direction from Noam Chomsky, US Professor: “the only hope for dealing with the two existential crises, which do threaten extinction, is to deal with them through a vibrant democracy with engaged, informed citizens who are participating in developing programmes to deal with these crises.”
So what are we doing to engage?
What are we doing to inform ourselves and others?
What are we doing to develop programmes that deal with these crises?
What would it be like to approach Climate Coaching from a constructive, positive perspective?
We recognise the importance of Reality Recognition and the emotions of Dismay and Dread, and also the engagement and energy that comes from Forward Visioning and the emotion of Hope and Inspiration.
Let’s Explore and Discuss: and prepare to share really constructive ways to interact with people. This could be at a personal, societal, business, technological, political and governmental level.
We suggest that we prepare by looking at recent constructive media of different sorts:
reading one of: CEE Bill or Drawdown book or Green party political programme (what they stand for).. or attend the CCA 24hour Conversation (1st October) or the Green Party Conference (2-11th).
or write up a case example from your own practice
or write about the legacy you want your grandchildren to tell their children about.
Then reflect on what you learned and bring your takeaways from this preparation work to share together during our community session.
