Leadership Lessons from Indigenous African Communities
Please join me as I share indigenous African wisdom regarding THE CRITICAL ROLE OF WOMEN IN AFRICAN INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES.
I hope this will help in addressing some of the challenges that women leaders face in the 21st century, such as low self confidence, imposter syndrome etc.
These challenges prevent them from showing up authentically and making a meaningful contribution in decision making.
African Indigenous communities have always allocated a critical leadership role to women! This includes the role of women in succession and women as custodians of family values and institutional memory. An example is ”Rakgadi/Dadobawo” (the paternal aunt affectionately referred to as DABS). There are many more examples.
Come let’s explore how we can restore the dignity and confidence of women leaders using lessons from indigenous African wisdom!
