In this conversation and poetry reading, Drew Dellinger will discuss the urgent need to transcend the modern worldview and put justice, creativity, and the Earth at the center. He will explore concepts of cosmology, imagination, and interconnectedness in relation to the planetary crisis and the current global movements for climate justice, social justice, and protection of the biosphere. The transformations of our time call for unprecedented creativity — using the powers of Dream, Story, Art, and Action to bend the future toward ecology, equity, and blossoming.

Presenter(s) Bio

Drew Dellinger, Ph.D., is an internationally known speaker, writer, poet, and teacher who has lectured and taught extensively across the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, and many other publications, and he is author of the award-winning poetry collection, Love Letter to the Milky Way, and the upcoming book, The Ecological King.

Dellinger has lectured at numerous colleges and universities and has taught at Prescott College, Schumacher College, Naropa University–Oakland, the Sophia Center, CIIS, and John F. Kennedy University, where he was Associate Professor and Director of the Program in Social Ecology. From 2020 to 2022, Dellinger served as Scholar-in-Residence at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute at Stanford University.

He has been called "a national treasure," by Joanna Macy, "a deep and courageous poet," by Alice Walker, and "one of the most creative, courageous, and prophetic voices of his generation," by Cornel West.
