Many organisations in the climate cause are filled with people who are passionate about positive change. They are driven to make a difference in the world. However, there is an uncomfortable truth that many organisations are made up of privileged people, making the climate movement within organisations not particularly representative of people across the globes.

Whilst organisations have looked to address this, many diversity initiatives fail as there is not a genuine understanding as to why they are important. But by opening up the conversation, we can build a greater, deeper connection to each other and ourselves.

From this, we can use our own understanding to build positive, lasting change.

This workshop will be an opportunity for people to attend and get a better, more comfortable understanding of why diversity is important for them. This will help open up a highly important conversation and give an opportunity for growth and learning.

The exercise is taken from the book – Make Diversity Matter To You. You can find more about the book on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BKTPPY1K?ref_=pe_3052080_276849420

Presenter(s) Bio

I am Tahmid. I am a transformational coach who supports individuals and businesses to continually improve and be the best version of themselves. My experience stems from working in numerous public and private institutions on UK and EU policy issues. I currently work professionally on influencing EU climate and sustainability policy in Brussels. I am passionate about Diversity and Inclusion, personal development, and organisational development. I see value in supporting the development of people that make up our workforce through empowerment and giving clearer direction. I also work to improve the processes and systems within organisations that we use on a day-to-day basis to make our jobs better and more enjoyable, with improved customer satisfaction.

I greatly believe in the importance of Diversity and Inclusion in the modern economy. I have experience working on race, having developed race training material, and presented at senior boards with recommendations on how to improve racial diversity in the workplace. Outside of work, I love to travel and learn languages. I speak English, French and Spanish and enjoy language learning as a hobby. To wind down I also do yoga (when I get the chance!)
