Loving Earth Project : Engaging with climate issues through art and textiles

1150 1150 people viewed this event.

The Loving Earth Project helps people engage with climate issues by providing simple creative processes to explore how we might take action inspired by love, to help prevent future harm from environmental breakdown.
A community textile project is a central part of the project, and provides a way for those who wish to deepen this process over a longer period while they make a textile panel to illustrate their response. These can then be a focus for conversation and reach out to others; 400 panels have already been made and groups are being exhibited. The project continues until end 2023.

This workshop will offer an introduction to the Loving Earth Project, including a guided meditation, response activity and some sharing of responses. Please bring drawing paper (ideally A3 size – approx 30x40cm) and coloured crayons/pastels/chalks/pens  – whatever is available. No special skills needed: we will be playing, rather than making art.

The Loving Earth process can be adapted to different circumstances, individuals, communities and organisations. You can find out more about the project at http://lovingearth-project.uk.

Sorry, today’s workshop will not be suitable for those with serious visual impairment .
