Climate Change and My Community: Coaching secondary school students to take action by influencing online
This workshop reviews how a coaching approach is used to support senior secondary school students in Auckland, New Zealand, with education for sustainability action projects. In one particular project (Climate Change and My Local Community), students created online content to educate and influence behaviour around climate change. The underlying principles of this project will be discussed, together with examples of ways the teacher used coaching questions to support students to make a difference online. We will then explore what we can learn from this that might be applied to other contexts for coaching to influence around climate change.
